These terms apply when you request a quote from, book, or hire 217 Movers & Junk Removal ("we," "us," or "our") for moving or junk removal services. Booking a job means you agree to these terms. We've kept them plain — if anything's unclear, just ask.
We provide residential and commercial moving — including full-service packing, loading, transport, unloading, and unpacking, as well as labor-only jobs where you supply the truck, pod, or trailer — plus junk removal and property cleanouts, throughout Champaign County and the surrounding Central Illinois area. We focus on local and regional moves within Central Illinois; ask us about anything longer-distance.
Quotes and estimates are our good-faith projection based on the information you give us — they are not a fixed contract until the work is confirmed. Moving is generally billed by the hour; junk removal is generally a flat rate based on how much we haul. We give you a clear price up front, and we'll tell you before doing anything that would change it. Final charges reflect the work actually performed, including any items, access issues, or time not described when you booked.
We'll confirm your date and arrival window in advance. Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to reschedule or cancel, so we can offer the slot to someone else. If we require a deposit for a particular job, we'll tell you when you book and explain whether it's refundable.
Payment is due when the job is complete unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. Online invoice payments are processed by Square. Tips are never expected; when you leave one, it goes to the movers.
For safety and legal reasons, we cannot haul hazardous materials — including but not limited to wet paint, chemicals, solvents, oil, fuel, asbestos, and biohazards. If you're unsure about an item, ask us before your appointment and we'll help you figure out the right way to dispose of it.
We are fully insured and we'll gladly share a certificate of insurance on request. We treat your home and belongings with care. In the rare event of loss or damage that is our fault, contact us promptly — within a reasonable time after the job — and we'll work with you in good faith to make it right, subject to the terms and limits of our insurance and applicable Illinois law. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, normal wear, items not packed or prepared by us, or damage to items we advised against moving.
We may take before-and-after photos of a job (for example, of odometer readings, loads, or cleanouts) for our records. We do not publish photos of your home or belongings without your permission.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be handled in the courts serving Champaign County, Illinois.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you book is the one that applies to your job. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we make changes.
